Facilities for the Sacramento Ballet were designed to be centered around a flexible, multipurpose space, which acts as a “living room” for the company and the community. Large glass windows, with views into the main studio, allow visitors unlimited visual access. Included in the facilities are the administrative offices, rehearsal studios, warehouse facilities for sets and costumes, bathrooms and showers, dressing rooms and a small catering kitchen. This building, in addition to being able to support the long working hours of the dancers and staff of the Sacramento Ballet, can accommodate several hundred visitors at regular open rehearsals and brown-bag luncheon performances. Meeting all the ADA codes, as well as proving very popular with both the public and dancers alike, these facilities have shown to be a great asset to the midtown area. credit: mark rusconi architects |
