Mark Rusconi Architects is a full service architectural practice, with many years of experience in both the housing and commercial fields.

Principal Mark Rusconi was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where his formative years were spent helping his father, a contractor, design and build houses. This early exposure fostered in him a deep respect and desire for good architecture, and led him to the renowned School of Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Under the guidance of the excellent faculty, he amassed a wealth of knowledge and design skills. In his final year, he transferred to continue his studies at the affiliated campus in Florence, Italy.

Good fortune prevailed and Mark was hired by Paolo Riani Associates, an acclaimed Italian architect with a reputation for innovative building design. Whilst working under Signore Riani, Mark gained invaluable experience on a variety of housing and commercial projects in Italy, the Middle East and Japan.

Upon returning to the U.S. Mark worked in San Francisco for 5 years most notably for the firm of Backen Arrigoni & Ross (BAR Architects). He continued honing his skills on such diverse projects as custom residences, ski resort housing, large condominium projects and in-fill housing projects for San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, and Colorado.

Since returning to Sacramento 20 years ago, Mark has been able to plow his knowledge and work experience into a wide range of projects in his hometown.

He worked with Steven Goldstein, a high-end residential architect, for some time and since Mr. Goldstein’s departure to North Carolina, Mark has continued to provide services in this area, also.

Equally adept at both commercial and residential design, he has gained considerable recognition for his sensitive approach to architecture, and is well respected by both clients and peers alike.
